What You Need To Bring With You To Lease A Car.....
When you collect a car, you will need to bring to following documents.
- Photo ID, usually a passport
- Driving License
- Proof of address
- Proof of insurance
- Sufficient funds for a deposit, plus pro rata contract payment until the end of the month
- You will need sufficient time to read the contract, check the car, noting any imperfections, and to complete the paperwork. This is unlikely to take less than an hour
- We will need to photocopy all the documents you provide
Key Contract Terms and Conditions
Individual contracts will vary - these are the key points of our standard agreement. The terms and conditions in your signed contract always apply.
- 1000 miles a month are included within the monthly fees- mileage over this will be charged per mile
- Payments are due on the 1st or the 15th of each month (your choice), and must be referenced with the car registration number.
- Vehicles must be used sensibly, and driven according to the rules of the road.
- Cars must be checked regularly for oil, water, tyre pressures etc.
- Vehicles must not be used to carry out work for delivery services unless with prior agreement from BCL
- Customers must return the vehicle every 5000 miles for servicing and maintenance, as well as in time for the MOT
- Insurance must include Blue Chip Leasing as the car owner.
- We will provide road tax at cost, not included in the headline cost of the car.
- The customer is responsible for getting the car to the workshop in the event of a breakdown.
Blue Chip Leasing will:
- Provide the car selected, maintained and running well with an MOT
- Carry out any MOT work at no cost to the customer.
- Carry out maintenance work, defined by us, to ensure the car is reliable and safe.
- Provide a courtesy car subject to T&C's
The Nasty Bits
- While we never set out for things to go wrong, sometimes they do. In all circumstances we have the right to terminate the contract with no further notice, and with no responsibility for any consequential costs.
- Occasionally we will need to recover the car. In these cases, we will do everything we can to avoid that. But in the event that we need to do this (most frequently for cases of no insurance, persistent disregard for road laws, poor payment history, failure to look after the car, or abuse of the car). We will usually give you an option to bring the car back to us. If you fail to do this within a reasonable amount of time, we will recover the car. We do this by using the spare key to drive the car away, without further notice. We do this to avoid physical confrontation of our recovery folk. It will mean that you may have personal belongings in the car. You will be able to collect these belongings by pre-arrangement in the near future.
- If we recover the car, we will charge you our standard rate to do so, and this may be taken from your deposit.
